How to Plan a Vegas Wedding

By Bryan Burbank

When people use to think of a Las Vegas wedding the first think that came to mind was that most likely you rushed off and eloped. Well that is no longer the case, today when most couples think of a Vegas wedding they are thinking about a destination wedding with all of the friends and family included. Las Vegas has become one of the most popular locations for destination weddings. In the article below I would like to give you some tips for planning your Las Vegas destination wedding.

First, take nothing for granted before you plan your wedding make sure those that are near and dear to you can come. Check that the date is OK and that they can afford to make the trip. A certain amount of time and expense will be involved for your guests. Unless you have the finances to foot the entire bill for your entire wedding party. Keep in mind transportation to Las Vegas, hotel accommodations and food for your guests while they are there.

Second, you have now decided that a wedding in Vegas is what you want and that is OK with all of your guests you must start planning where to hold your wedding. You may want your wedding at a small private chapel or a hotel wedding chapel or choose from one of the many churches and temples in Vegas. Many couples also choose to hold the ceremony and reception at a hotel in Vegas. Las Vegas hotels specialize in Theme weddings which take your wedding to another dimension. After you decided where you want to marry call and check if the location is available and if it is reserve it. If time you can take the time and have the funds I suggest a visit to Vegas in ample time before the wedding is a good idea. It is a good idea to check things out before you and your guests arrive for the big day.

Third, getting in touch with a good wedding planner in Las Vegas is a great idea. There are many good ones to be found. They can create for you the wedding of your dreams. They will be able to put a package together for you. These packages can range in price from $300 to a wedding in the millions. They will arrange for the location, the flowers, the food and drink and if you want, even someone to marry you. Most likely you don’t live in Vegas so having someone take care of you at this nerve wracking time will be a great burden lifted off of you.

Fourth, so many people choose to marry in Vegas because it is easy there is no waiting period for a license and they are cheap. Having a wedding in Vegas can create lasting memories for you and your guests. So be one of the thousands each year that choose Vegas as their wedding destination.

Does anybody have any creative wedding invitation ideas?

May 16th, 2012 by admin

My cousin wants to make her own invitations for the wedding, but she doesn’t know how. Does anybody have any good ideas you wouldn’t mind us stealing? :-P

get some simple cheap cards at the dollar store then personalize them with the theme of your wedding,
get a hole puncher and attach ribbon or something nice looking,
downy white feathers are cheap and i think look kinda cool
craft supply stores sell stamps, or you can make your own personalized monogram with some pink pearl errasors and some basic tools and a linoleum block cutter that you can find in a art supply store, (you only need one that looks cool and a ink pad to get limitless impressions, e mail me for details,) if you have some heavy papper and a good sowing machine you can even sow something small on the edge of a card, or if you have an embroidery machine…
thats all i got

most creative wedding idea? lots of answers please!!!?

May 15th, 2012 by admin

I am getting married in October. I want to hear as many creative ideas as i can possible get. anything you’ve seen at someone’s wedding or at your own wedding. what is the coolest, cutest, or most creative idea you’ve seen or heard?

i was married last October. i used autumn as a semi-theme.
we had:
*leaves (fake) as name cards and I wrote ea. person’s name on the leaves w/ paint pen
*small lanterns w/ candles inside as centerpieces surrounded by autumn tone flowers.
*candle lanterns (tall ones) lined the aisle adorned w/ autumn toned flowers.
*chocolate colored table linens- this is one of the best things you can do. it makes everything look richer.
*i had hand-made candles as favors. they look like real pears from eastern primitives.
*you can serve soup instead of salad if it’s cold.
*have a hot-chocolate station along w/ the coffee.
*we had a “kids table” we still sat the children at a table w/ their parents, but we had an extra table w/o candles on it. we places toys/ candies/ coloring books/comics etc. on the table for the kids to keep busy.
These are just a few ideas…
hope this helps!

I’m not nervous.. is that weird?

May 14th, 2012 by admin

I’m getting married this saturday coming up (the 20th) and EVERYONE and their mother keeps asking me if im scared or nervous.. and im always like "no.. not at all.. should i be??"

i mean my fiance and i (i’m 22 hes 23) have been together for 2 1/2 years.. and have lived together for 2 of those years.. we moved out of state together where the only people we knew were my parents at first and one of my friends who moved here the same time as we did.. we have a house together.. we have a joint bank account.. we have two kittens.. the only thing thats really missing is my last name being different..

i mean.. im crazy excited about the wedding.. but not nervous at all.. because the only thing really changing is my last name..

should i be nervous?? why does everyone think that brides are always nervous before the wedding??

I don’t think it’s odd you aren’t nervous. I think most brides just get nervous over everything going off fine.

Great band caught live at a wedding reception – (Check out these wedding singers)

May 14th, 2012 by admin

Amateur footage caught on-location of this great sounding wedding band – The Engagements. Click here for their press kit videos:

Song: All Night Long as done by Mary Jane Girls.

The videographers caught some footage during the reception, and everyone loved the band.

Check out the bride and groom’s review of the band’s entertainment at their wedding! -

“We had a wedding with a very mixed crowd, older relatives, kids, and a ton of musicians who are hard to please. The Engagements rocked the house with great creativity and musicality. Note: this not your typical cover band–The Engagements are all musicians of the highest caliber from the New York scene who have decided to combine their love of pop music with a commercial venture. They are real professionals, tasteful, great sound, great presentation. It was perfect for our Wedding, because we needed a group that could cover classic material without sounding cheesy. The Engagements had a huge song list, with tons of great songs that we wouldn’t have even thought of, from Sinatra to Stevie Wonder to Hall and Oates. If you’re looking some something a cut above a standard cover band, The Engagements are worth it.”

How does a wedding registry work?

May 13th, 2012 by admin

just curious if a couple register at a place like bloomingdales, so does that mean people can only buy wedding gifts for the couple at bloomingdales?? and then they go throughout the store and price checking things like plates, towels etc…so when you buy them stuff you have to buy things on the list?

This in a nutshell is registry 101.

The registry lets you know what items they need and/or want.

In the store: Go to information or the registry kiosk, put in their name and a list will print showing everything that is on their registry. If items have already been purchased it will tell you that. If you select a gift from the registry, give it to the cashier and they will update the list letting everyone else know that the item you selected has been purchased.

On their website: Same concept, if you select items off the registry and then pay for it, once you pay for it, the registry will be updated.

Some people do price scout and find things on the registry cheaper at other stores, but this can present some problems, usually when this happens they will get duplicates of items and something will end up being returned. If at Bloomingdales they asked for a toaster and someone decided to buy them one at Bed Bath and Beyond instead, someone else will buy that toaster at Bloomingdales and they probably don’t need 6 toasters.

You don’t absolutely have to buy something from the list, you can buy another gift of your choosing you think they may enjoy (from that store or another one) and really you can just get them a gift card from the store if nothing meets your price range or if everything on their registry has been purchased.

Now, if you ever go to a baby shower, its the same concept.
